Certificate Programs 

The Local Government Training Institute delivers a wide range of nationally accredited Certificate programs from Certificate II to Diploma level.

We aim to assist councils with skills shortage issues, through qualifications that in some cases attract government funding. Enrol one member of staff, or a whole group.

Currently, the Local Government Training Institute has over 300 participants in certificate programs across Australia.

This includes over 50 participants in planning courses.

Our certificate programs have many benefits :

  • Flexible delivery, including distance education

  • Participants can enrol at any time for most programs. There are no set intake dates or enrolment deadlines

  • Government incentives for New Entrant Trainees and Existing Workers (there may be no cost to your organisation )

  • Ongoing support for all participants via phone and email

  • Recognition of current work-related skills through RPL - experienced staff are not required to 're-learn' what they already know

  • structured training/assessment to enhance staff capabilities in areas important to their career and the organisation
